Hi,

I have been looking for watches on the internet for a good few months now and I finally plumped for a Tissot PRC200. I tried it on in a small jewellers and it felt too tight and too loose when a link was added. As a watch that moved around would drive me mad, I said to the lady in the shop that if i had to choose, I would rather wear it too tight. She said that I could take the watch away with me and see if I could get used it to it, so I paid (got 5% off RRP as well) and having worn it for a few hours I decided that it was definitely too tight. I took it back to the jewellers this morning and we tried everything to try and get a good fit, but Tissot don't do half links for this particular model, which is unbelievably frustrating because a half link would mean an ideal fit. As the watch has an extension for a wetsuit etc, there are only 2 small holes on the clasp rather than the usual 5 or 6 so that limited any non-link extension.

It's just so frustrating as I really really want this watch and the other watch that I want just as much is the Raymond Weil Freelancer, which is out of my price range. I just find it very annoying that a company like Tissot don't do half links for such a popular model. Any thoughts?

Hi,

I agree with the leather strap option, the watch would look good on black leather and it has a couple of obvious advantages from a fit perspective - first leather is more 'grippy' so less inclined to spin if a little loose, and second even if you're unlucky and a standard strap has holes in the wrong place you can always add one if there's room, or better have a strap made specifically for your requirements. Other watches in that range come on a leather strap - I would start by asking your supplier whether they have any in stock, and if so see if they will switch the bracelet on your watch for a strap so you can see if that's a viable option. If it is, then worst case you have to buy one, best case you can negotiate something with the supplier.

Also have a look at the clasp on the bracelet - is there no space for additional holes, or is there room, they just don't happen to be present? If the latter, it would be a simple matter for anyone with the right tool and sufficient skill to add holes in an appropriate location.

Good luck...
