That's all you needed to say, words and petrol are best used with economy in mind. 😉👍
There was obviously no real point to gain anything out of this thread but a bit of fun and something for people to talk about for others to voice their opinions on 3 of the most popular brands that I hear and see every day

I think that this was a successful thread as people have seemed to get involved

This was just a little bit of a fun thread to me to see where the 3 most popular brands in a similar category would sit in other peoples lists , similar thread could be a seiko , citizen , Orient etc

it’s nothing to be really taken as anything but a bit of a harmless conversation that I hoped many people would get involved and they have so for me it’s successful

I like many used to be a bit of a Rolex hater and in some way it’s probably because I could never afford one , I’ve been watching alot of documentary’s and following a few people who work on 47th street in New York who work with mainly Rolex AP and patek and I’ve really enjoyed it and gave me a new view on Rolex and I would love to own one , it’s actually crazy how they just treat them like an item to flip the practically throw them around on counters , most don’t even have a box and in my mind I just think wow they are scratching a £12k watch and don’t even care

as I’ve said I think this has been a very successful thread for me as my list had flipped upside down a tad , before my list would have been
1. Omega
2. Tudor
3. Rolex
Now it’s
1. Rolex
2. Tudor
3. Omega
But I admit I do like the speedmaster over the Daytona and I like the black bay pro over the explorer 2 , but I prefer the explorer 1 over the ranger and I like the smp probably a little tiny bit better than a submariner , so In many ways a pointless thread but also just a bit of fun , get people opinions , get everyone involved and just enjoy people’s comments about some cracking and stunning watches that I would really love to own as they are all grails but it would be hard for me to just pick one which also gets me to the point of what one would I choose if I could ever afford one , so this was just helping me decide a grail watch as I probably couldn’t afford 2 so where I would put my money is still not decided but as a brand on a whole I do love a Rolex

I've watched a few of those 47th street New York watch blokes. For the most part I wouldn't buy a bag of sweets off most of them nevermind an expensive watch or diamond.

😂 😂

I wouldn’t either but it’s fun to watch and learn some things about some of my holy grails and how they get them for a good price etc , it’s been a little bit of a learning experience for me and someone I knew growing up has a jewellers on Hatton garden now his from Brixton , it’s called 57 jewellers and they sell Rolex and bling and whatnot I’ve also enjoyed following them on YouTube

Tudor in first place, Rolex and then Omega but that’s mainly value for money.
having said that my Black bay pro is my favourite tudor but I think the white explorer 2 is better but the black explorer 2 is less desirable to me and the polar black bay pro is very disappointing. Depending on the day I could rearrange the order And omega would score higher if I counted 20year old watches.
I am confused how one could say value for tge money with Rolex. They have become heirloom items they are so ridiculously expensive. I cant imagine dropping 14k USD and have someone ask if it’s real.

Who cares what people think? If someone has the money and want's to spend it on a Rolex then it's nobody's business but theirs. Live and let live I say!

I was in the same boat trying to pick between the three, and what helped me sort things out was stumbling onto https://www.reveriewatches.net/rolex-replica/. Seeing the differences up close gave me a clearer idea of what I liked without breaking the bank. They're not perfect, but they’re good for figuring out what style and size work before committing to something pricey.

I’ve had all three and found Omega gives me the best mix of design, comfort, and accuracy. Rolex feels special but isn't as fun, and Tudor has great value for what you get.
Approaching spot on for me ..... Rolex are great watches but a bit dusty , Tudor is good value but for me designs are great or crap , Wrench's Tudor is amongst the best clean design for a watch I have ever seen but some of Tudors watches look noisy and cheap. Omega are mostly amazing but now mostly ridiculously over priced.

I do think Omega will regret those rather excessive price rises, as Rolex availability improves, they won't have the price advantage they used to have and I think a lot of people will compare the brands and choose Rolex.

@Duncan U. I agree with the point made about them not having a price advantage , the thing is I would love to own so many omegas but if your spending a lot of money then it may not be the best to hold its value compared to a decently picked Rolex , the problem would be for me is it would probably get boring pretty fast as they are the most copied watches it seems like I’ve owned them all already in a way

I hate subs at the moment I prefer the black bay pro GMT’s to dive watches , it would be very difficult to choose 1 out of the 3 brands so I guess I’m lucky I’m too poor to worry 🤣

I like Japanese watches a lot so grand seiko shunbun or the snowflake one or whatever are probably better picks for me personally

I agree about the Sub, I have never liked it since they added the crown guards and Mercedes hands.....
Personally, I would choose an Omega of the three brands, probably a Railmaster, but for the non-WIS majority of watch buyers, I really think they'll think "Omega v Rolex....might as well have a Rolex" and Tudor will mop up the sales to people who either can't or won't spend £5000+ on a watch. Looking back the Speedmaster used to be a real bargain.

It's already happened in one of our local Rolex ADs , I was in there earlier in the week [ not for watches, for jewellery ] and I bumped into a old mate who was getting married Yesterday and who was buying a Rolex from the window [ An OP ] , he told me he had tried on an Omega AT, Zenith and another [ can't remember which ] , then popped in to the Rolex AD to chat to his contact there about which of the three he would recommend [ I know , the cheek of it ] , then the OP caught his eye and he noticed no " Exhibition only" labels so he bought it there and then..... He wore it for the Wedding and then gave it to his son. I was miffed at no invite but he reminded me it's his 3rd attempt at bat .... :ROFLMAO:
