For me the Ray looks more diver which is what it is suppossed to be. The strap is also 22mm instead of 20mm. This might be a big consideration if you wish to swap out the bracelet for a nato etc at times if you already have a collection of straps or not. I havent found this but Id want to know if either have a screw down crown.

Don't mean to muddy the waters here, but I'd rather have the Kamasu than either of the two above - I prefer the larger markers on the dial of the Kamasu & the only thing I didn't like on mine was the quality of the bracelet clasp, but this was easily rectified by replacing it with a milled one - Here's a pic of mine (which I think is still owned by someone here?)

 

Ray II for me, better lume and I prefer divers with thinner bezels. Both nice watches though, more similarities than differences.

 

Got both in front of me here and to all intents and purposes they are the same watch, Case and bezel shape are identical (both 22mm lug width), same movement, both screw down crowns. Differences are purely cosmetic with the dial design and handset and the bracelet on the Ray has a polished "stripe" down the sides of the centre links while the Mako is a trad brushed Oyster style.

Not the best example for comparison, Ray is father in law's and he experimented with giving the bezel a plain brushed finish and it's currently off the bracelet but hopefully you get the idea.

Ray, for a couple reasons. Bracelet, unlike the Mako, appears multifaceted. The hands are much better.

I have both and they are excellent. My Ray , an earlier model with the day change pusher is my work watch. It's had some knocks but still runs spot on. I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.
