Chrono 24 - cancelling a transaction.

I made a suggestion to a business seller, which was accepted a few hours later, paid straight away.

Received an order confirmation, but no indication of dispatch was forthcoming in the coming days.

Chrono 24 messaged me to say they had messaged the seller to post it, I messaged the seller too asking if there was a problem.

Still no reply, so emailed the purchase withdrawal (returns) team, to say I wanted to withdraw (obvs :p).

Messaged the seller with a copy of that, and said "don't post it, because I will send it back if you do".

I will let you know what happens next.

My cash is still in the escrow account, so I am hoping it will be a straightforward refund.

I find Chrono24 very responsive and very professional. This is there core business. I think seller has few days to complete the transaction if not it is automatically cancelled. Same on buyer side, if I remember if buyer does not complete within 7 days it is automatically cancelled.

Their support is really great nothing to complain so far.

Indeed, very painless! Just got an email from Chrono24:

Dear Chrono24 user,

This order has been canceled.

Reason: The buyer is no longer interested
You have already paid for this order. That's not a problem! We will refund the purchase price to your credit card within the next 7 days.

So happy days. The same watch is available on Amazon for only a little more, so I may go there.

As a 'trusted seller' on C24, there is a new thing that the seller may be trying to avoid. If there is one item in stock and it sells via their own store at 16.01, and then a separate transaction happens on C24 at 16.02, Chrono24 will now take all of their commission for the sale on their platform for a watch you can no longer provide.

The same thing can happen overnight, while I am tucked up in my warm bed. So I and many other sellers will no longer automatically confirm the deal. But if the buyer retracts the offer then the dealer isn't penalised. It isn't petty - on a three grand watch you are talking ÂŁ250 ish in commission to Chrono24.

Glad to hear they sorted the issue quickly though.
