Where did you get the battery and was there a use by date on the package?

Can you check what the battery voltage is as there's a slim chance depending on the above that the battery is faulty.

Battery has expiry of 06/2024 and the voltage measures 1.6v

During the night it has given up and both digital and analogue has now stopped working

I think this may be the problem. This is where the earth prong contacts the circuit board

No, it’s all good. I don’t know what was on the contact but it has cleaned up as good as new.

Just gonna put it all back together and see 🤞

Since cleaning up where the earth prong contacts the circuit board, it all seems to be working as it should. I’ll check it tomorrow to see if it’s losing time or not

Well, after keeping time until I went to bed, it died again overnight. Both analogue and digital. I’m beginning to think it maybe the chip.

I would have expected the chip to either work or not.

You may still have a bad contact, possibly one of the solder joints is dry but you need a magnifier and steady hand to resolder.
