Croydon Service Centre fixed a similar problem with my Accutron Astronaut in 2019. They charge a nominal fee to inspect the watch even if you choose to have it returned unrepaired. The cost to fix mine was ÂŁ313.
If you can service/fix it in such a way that when functioning it is worth more than scrap gold value for yourself to keep, then get it fixed.
If when you add the cost of repair to the scrap value and it is more than its worth for sale to a buyer then perhaps not.
Either way it is worth getting quotes for scrap and repair from a couple of places to help you make your mind up.
