So I’m going to Chisholm hunters one day very soon and I want to try on the FC index , seiko 5 field GMT , citizen promaster solar tough TI , maybe some of the turtle style watches , alpinist , hydro conquest , Hamilton khaki full stainless steel on bracelet , I want to also go to a different store and try on the Certina DS titanium diver , after that I want to try on a few that I see on the day that I have forgotten about

I think I’m going to take a different approach to this , instead of thinking about the price bracket and thinking what fits in it , instead just have a look at what I really like (forget price)

there’s no point thinking about money untill I know what I like so if I find something I like I can then think about what I want to spend , so instead of shopping the price bracket , shopping around to see what I would enjoy wearing every day

Best of luck in your search.
I am not suggesting that you follow my route in life, but I found it hard having to justify my expenditure to the person who I co-habited with.

Now I live alone. My girlfriend does the same. We are both happy, meeting up when it suits us. Neither of us has to justify our spending to the other. It’s wonderful!

I have a son, long since left home. So that is one less responsibility.

Life is good!

So I’ve been talking to the misses and after selling a few cheap watches online for me and keeping the money (I’m such a good chess player) for her holiday and to get her Xmas present I seemingly gave her about a year and a half time frame for me to save up some money for a nice watch , so I said what’s the most you would be comfortable with me spending on a watch and she said £1k , i said no thats a bit too much

long story short as long as certain milestones are met for the kids the misses and the house I have been given leeway to save up £600 for a watch (i will add that I’ve never spent more than £150 on myself in 1 go , everything I have is built up over time , i always will buy the kids what they need so £400-£600 is a lot of money for me anyways I want this watch to be special

what are you guys buying for £400-£600 ? Second hand is recommended

I need some ideas as it’s quite important for me to get some ideas from some of my best mates on here

may I add yes it’s my choice what I buy and I will not be influenced by you guys to make a mistake so please don’t hold back , I want to know what everybody on this forum would do with that money and circumstance
My wife’s beater is a Rolex Yachtmaster Platinum bezel.
I gifted her a Cartier Francaise that is just sitting in the safe.
She noticed I purchased a vintage Omega Geneve Dynamic Bullseye and loved it, and when she found out they made a ladies version she got exited.
So out of all the watches she can wear, the £500 vintage Omega is the winner. Have a look and see what you think.

With £400-600 spare, would probably be a Makita thicknesser, or a Bosch bandsaw. Would make life so much easier! 👍
