Good morning, unprepared today so grabbed this one ...

Had no pallet fork when I picked it up, so sourced a replacement, serviced and now running very well. There's also been quite a few crystals ordered for this one, it's been a difficult one to get right, too loose, too tight, dome too low. Got there in the end.

 

Off to a English Heritage site visit.

 

Sir John Bennett Ltd watch in silver case, having import hallmarks (X) for Edinburgh and (Y) for 1929-30 assay year.

This was around the time the frontage of Bennett's Cheapside shop was dismantled and moved to Henry Ford's museum in Dearborn, Michigan. John Bennett, clock and watchmaker

Sponsor's mark [SP] is Sigmund Pulzer of Hatton Garden. He was a silver and gold worker, but also an agent for Langendorf Watch Co.

The movement is a Langendorf 2-10.5 ligne. The case being imported silver, I wonder if the entire watch was by Langendorf.
