Will never be forgotten by me!

It was this 9k model & bracelet, gifted by my parents to mark a significant birthday in 1972, as my introduction to the world of horology...

Most to be found with quality Peseux, ETA, AS, movements.

Some of the others I have since acquired...

The above fitted with an AS1916 (quick set day/date) movement...

The none quick set variation, AS1816, was deemed good enough for the early Blancpain FF's, calibre Rayville 566.

Would strongly recommend, for those interested in vintage timepieces, look out for early models as prices are 'continuing' to rise for good condition examples.

Interesting, that appears to be exactly the same as this one, which I found while sorting through my dear departed Dad's possessions a few days ago:

I didn't even know it existed until a few days ago, and never saw my Dad wearing it. There's even an inscription on the back "To Len, from Queen" (My Mum was called Queenie). Probably not one I will ever wear due to the small size, but of course it will be a keeper, and never sold. I thought it might have been 1960's, but good to know it is more likely to be 1950's - The only watch in my collection that is older than me

I very much doubt it has ever been serviced, and I don't even know when it was last used, but I wound it up and the watch runs fine. It lost about 2 mins in one day, which is pretty good I think.
Worthy of a service & new crystal, IMHO.

Lovely keepsake, Dave.

Hi everyone, I have a gold Avia watch that was given to me by my grandad. I'm trying to find a new strap for it but can't seem to find one that would fit on it as it doesn't need pins the leather just folds over the bars on the watch. Does anyone know the name of the type of strap I need?
thank you
Fixed lug/bar watch strap, or open ended watch strap.

HTH
