Picked up this from my local charity shop earlier on. Not bad for 8 quid. Does anyone know anything about sicura?

I do know that Sicura are a decent watch, and very collected.
Can't remember which, but one of the Davids on the forum will be your man.

Nice watch, very collectable, the top crown should rotate the inner bezel.
They made some very nice watches in the 60's and 70's some really big + loud ones like this.........

I believe they took over a smaller company and took their name, Breitling.

Very nice David. In fact the top crown winds the watch and the bottom crown screws the bezle in place. When it is unscrewed the bezle is free to turn. The minute chapter is in fact fixed. Those chrono's are very nice. What movements are in them? Mine has a 23 jewel manual wind thats running about +3 per day! Cheers, James.

I have 2 of these chrono graphes, both have 17 jewel hand wind movements, un-named yet good quality. Some of their high-end watches had Valjoux movements, but its not uncommon to find different movements in the same model watch
I also have a gold face version of the black one above, and a plain white chrono , both curently away for service. Will post a pic when they return.
Also have this nice blue face chappie, in great condition, acquired from a fellow forum member.

Gspotter was that design, where the bezel is secured by a crown, known as a Weems or WEEMS? I think the design was origianlly found on military watches, Foggy would know.

Must confess never really been a particular brand collector, just bought what I liked, usually 60/70's divers, chronos, world time sort of thing, bigger the better, yet although there have been some detours (Zeno, Oris, Orient, Ricoh,Sicura, Enicar, and 20/30's vintage stuff) always seem to end up with more Seiko's than anything else, this is why........

Perhaps one day soon may have a sort out and stick to one thing only, if I do it will be Seiko.

Nice collection of 6139-600's youve got there. Ive had a few of those, they are gorgeous. Ive got 2 8002's at the minute. One is NOS in its original box and the other is mint but not quite NOS because a tiny bit of the lume has come away from one of the indeces. I dont know if you can make it out from this crappy picture.

Thats nice, whatever your taste in chronos, Seiko has probably made the one for you at some point in time.
