Hi,

As I mentioned in one of my previous reviews, in Bulgaria 30-40 years ago there was only Russian watches. Here and there could be found some Seiko5, and a swiss watch was a sign of 'people's enemy'. So we don't pay enough attention, we got used to them. Very often it's not worth to repair a regular Russian watch, because they are cheap enough.
I'm not a fan of Russian watches (mainly because of the 'ugly' movements inside). But I can't hide my admirations about some models, very few indeed, but very beautiful. As now all my energy is directed to Chinese, I decided to keep these watches. Aren't they really beautiful?

Not so often watches in such condition pass through my hands. You know the main problem with Russian watches are cases and crowns, then dials and hands.
The Poljot is a very good combination of steel case and gilt hands and batons. Usually this combination require very well designed balance, and here it's excellent. Also has a very nice dial, looks very stylish.

The Raketa is a 'member' of intransitive dress style, especially these sharped hands, which opposite the rectangle batons. The proportions are so good, and the look is so 'luxury '.

These proudly take places in my collection. And I hope they will not be the last.

Regards, Miro.

I was thinking the other way around, Poljot case and Raketa dial. :)

William

If I could combine both, I'd take the case and the dial from the Poljot, and the batons and the hands from the Raketa.

But...nobody's perfect...

Regards, Miro.

Sure, whatever. This isn't like some threads, where I sit here and my head starts turning red and shaking uncontrollably.
