I havent bought a new watch in ages, so I went to the Birmingham Watch Fair with a few quid in my pocket and took a punt on this , a non running scabby looking Eterna with the ESA tuning fork movement ( a la Omega F300 ) , Although a buggered one can be repaired the costs can soon mount up so it was a risk but a calculated one.......


I sent it to Hawkey to see if he could do anything with it....
It was good news, fired up with a battery and the calendar wheel gears are fine ( weak point on these ) so I gave the go ahead for a full service and for a modest outlay I have a fine looking Kontiki ! Its obviously not the 'proper' Kontiki diver but not bad for the outlay, the caseback is gorgeous ..... Its not even a real diver I guess, the bezel is non moving but it has a screw down crown... It came on the original Kontiki bracelet too but sadly far too short for me...

That's an extremely rare version of this watch...I'm afraid yours is only worth 1/10th of that.

Surprised that the bezel doesn't move on those. I've not handled one, so I'd assumed they were Eterna's equivalent of Omega's SMf300.

Its still with Mr Burrage having a good fettle, there was more internal work than I thought so hes waiting for bits.....
