Well my package arrived this morning,

large.20180613_093506_kindlephoto-690273

and I shall be shortly off to peace and tranquillity, here,

under "canvas"

Set up one or three being my preference. My new tarp will compliment my existing one giving more covered space at the front. I'm off out later to experiment with some set ups. More to follow.

Nah!

I'm with the Sultan on this one, don't fancy bunking up with cook, the gardener & Caruther's.

Standards have to be maintained my good man.

This will be me in a weeks time...no tents, no buckets, just a reminder and a 5 euro note to the bar tender to replenish my glass whenever it's empty...

My view for the week...

Naturalist, Alan, please. End of season....no one about. You, the delightfully fragrant DC and your reliable and faithfull factotum would have a great time.....though don't overwork the poor fellow...he needs a break too...

Just waiting for the glorious 16th, when the coarse fishing season starts again.....none of this 'drey fley' malarkey and waving a fly rod about like a demented idiot....bunch of maggots on a 'Trent Trotter' and the brownies and grayling snap them up...the odd salmon too.

Different members of the armed forces were all asked what they would do if they found a scorpion in their tent.

The soldier said he'd stamp on it.

The SAS recruit said he would catch it, rip off the sting and eat the scorpion.

The gentleman from the RAF said he would call room service and ask why there was a tent in his hotel suite!

I'm with the RAF spiritually!

Yes it’s well known that the Army “dig in” whilst the RAF “check in”

better a pongo than a crab I say!
