Getting rid of magnetism

Recommended Posts

I have one of those plastic blocks with "magnetise" and "demagnetise" sections but it does not appear to work. Can anyone sugest a foolproof way of demagnetising ones screwdrivers

thanks

I have one of these but inserting a screwdriver into it seems to have no effective. Can they fail and if so what can be done to get it working again.

If I'm not mistaken you're supposed to gently get the item closer to the mag/demag point and then away from it. Repeat it a few times until it, theoretically, works.

The demags that scott speaks might be better but they only demagnetize.
