  1. Rolex owners club

I went to a champagne evening at my local agents last night and came home with this. The thing is, I was only drinking orange juice.
  2. My Harwood automatic watch

The pictures are still showing here, it must be your Internet provider.
  3. Bug Photos

I have a few insect pictures, some from the UK and others from the Middle East. Hover fly (UK) Hover fly (Bahrain) Huge wasp, surrounded by bees. (Bahrain) Clouded yellow (Bahrain)
  4. Thought I'd try a light tent...

    Goodbye to a good buy.
  5. My Harwood automatic watch

There's some great information here, thanks for the contributions. Coincidental, I've found a gold Harwood watch in an auction lot at this link. Harwood watch auction lot
  6. My Harwood automatic watch

On the edited image below, I've tried to isolate the moving semi-rotor (I couldn't think of a better term) by removing the colour from the rest of the movement. This sweeps until they hit the block, just above the patent number. The bumpers (ringed in red)at the ends take up the shock of the impact and the movement winds the watch. The rather clumsy red arrows show the directions of movement. As there's no crown, moving the watch is the only way of winding it. Alan, Please chip in with any further information. You may know more of the complexities of the movement than I do. Adrian
  7. Watch Hierarchy?

It's just one persons opinion, we could all draw a triangle of brands and they'd all be different. I'm sure I've seen the diagram before, quite a few years ago, which would account for Tudor not being listed.
  8. My Harwood automatic watch

I tried to get an more detailed image, showing the bumpers and the sweep of the semi rotor. I hope this shows them better.
  9. My Harwood automatic watch

The pleasure is all mine. I offered mine on loan to the local museum. They weren't interested, which made me think they were missing the point. Mine is kept in the safe and only comes out to show friends if I know they have an interest in watches.
  10. Help with Seiko 5T52-6A40 Alarm

    Little devil.
  11. WRUR (What are you reading)

I've always been an avid reader and I favourite genre is historical novels. At the moment I'm ploughing my way through "The Last Kingdom" series by Bernard Cornwell. I'm just about to start book 8 of 9.
  12. Monday incoming

Congratulations. I had the Combat Auto Chrono but unbelievably misplaced it.
  13. Would this annoy you?

    Great result.
  14. Would this annoy you?

I think you did the right thing.
  15. On my policy, I only have to individually list items costing over £5,000. All others are lumped into the contents sum and that sum is then charged. Mine are added to my general building and contents policy. There are further restrictions for me e.g. my jewellery and watches with a value of £5,000 and over have to be kept in an approved safe when not in use.
