    What was your Christmas haul?

@Davey P good man! I have a Roland kit, which is popular in my house mainly because you can A) Turn it down! or B) Put it on headphones! I must admit it's gathering a bit of dust at the moment, I really must get going with learning how to play again. I had a go for the first time about a year ago on an acoustic kit though, and oh boy are they loud and just generally awesome!
  3. Very nice score Roger. You still got that beautiful Orca was it called that you bought a year or so back when you were on holiday I think? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Advice please on a Seiko Pogue

There are lots of them on the Bay (ask me if I learnt this stuff the hard way, I dare you!). I'd imagine on a good day you'd get a good couple of hundred plus for yours on a well known auction site. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Advice please on a Seiko Pogue

It's lovely. Aftermarket dial though - the model number looks straight and should be curved I think. Also the dial says "water 70 proof" which was only on the early ones (stopped about 71? Would need to check) and the back says resist. The date code on the back is June 1976 so the dial should be blank where it says water 70 proof. The rotating insert and the bezel insert are also I think AM. The movement says 6139A which was used until it was replaced in 1971/2 with the 6139B. So yes, it looks like it is a very beautiful watch that is made from other parts. Still beautiful but like other watches originality pushes the price higher. I hope this hasn't come across as snotty as I'm not a watch snob, just wanted to try and answer your question and supply a couple of reasons for saying what I did rather than just being negative. 16. Very generous. I hereby express my interest in the Parnis. Auto.
  17. Do you listen to Frank Skinner on Saturdays by any chance? You don't strike me as being of that ilk so it's probably a coincidence but he mentioned last week that he had bought himself a hop along Cassidy wristwatch as he always wanted one as a small boy but his family couldn't afford such things... 19. You've bought Paul Newman's Paul Newman? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Very interesting write up, thanks for sharing it. I didn't realise how innovative Casio were, although I have bought three of their 80's digital in the last month as they are such amazing value for a cool retro watch. Do many people collect the important ones in the same way that say Seiko's are collected? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. You've been generous to me in the past so I will sit this one out, just wanted to say what a lovely gesture Davey. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
