  1. Looks great, but you've got it on the wrong wrist! (3... 2... 1... incoming!!!) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Wow, that looks bloody stunning Jimbo. I've got to hunt one of these bad boys down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. A bit of a moment for me today - officially resurrected my first dead watch! Not exactly a sought after classic, a defunct Seiko quartz V657-7100 that I got off the bay for a few quid. Not working, crystal that was too knackered to see through and full of crud. I took out the movement and gave it a bit of a sloosh, new battery, changed the crystal (first time for that too, loving my new screw down crystal/case press) and gave it all a bit of a polish with some Cape Cod. Although movement was officially working a day or so ago I've been waiting for the press for reassembly - my official timeline stopped when I got it all back together. Bracelets too bloody small though! And looking at the pics I may have to pop the crystal and align the bezel again. But I'm a proud puppy. Woohoo! Onto the next one...
  4. All of mine have been carefully planned purchases. Those careful plans are then chucked out of the window when I see something I like which I then buy on impulse... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Where I live there's more Ruby's than pubs. My standard tester for a new one is chicken jalfrezi, saag aloo, keema nan. If they get that right I'll go off piste and try new stuff, if not I'll try somewhere else. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Nice variety in there. Love the Seamaster and great to see the beautiful SARB33 in action; I have one and am just waiting for new strap to arrive so I can fit the thing round my wrist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Is that a Lulworth Cove tea towel? You've raised the game Graham! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Just pulled up at the Star Wars Exhibition with mini Pip. It's fair to say we are both very excited. Another Sharkey today, changed the strap to one I got from@Wrench I think... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. GMT and a nice shirt? Didn't think courts were in session on Saturdays! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Was watching a rattrapante (spelling?) movement on YouTube a couple of days ago. That was fairly funky and a different way of thinking about chronograph movements. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Sat in the warm car having just delivered mini Pip to Saturday activities. Haven't worn this in ages so time to give it a run out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That's a stunner Rob! Dial is gorgeous, numerals work, strap really suits it, what's not to love? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Where in the country are you Jimbo? If you're anywhere near me you're welcome to have a look at the Alpinist and I've got a couple of 007's you can have a look at too if you like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Sporting the Alpinist today; the compass might save my bacon if the snowstorms hit! (yeah, right)
  15. I've got the SARB017 Alpinist and I love it - wore it yesterday and have it on again today. The green dial is beautiful and the gold hands and numerals look great. I just wish it were a little bigger (although it seems you prefer smaller anyway). The moving internal bezel is cool but have I ever used it as a compass? Nah, what do I need a compass for? And the one on my phone is easier to use! Hackable, handwind and auto with screwdown crown. Date complication but no day. On mine I have found the crown to be a little tricky to pull out to position 2 when setting it compared to some of my other Seiko's. Have I mentioned that beautiful green dial...? So my advice is this - if you possibly can, try them on prior to purchase and then buy whatever floats your boat.
