  1. Some interesting comments and clearly a tricky area. A mixture of fake and genuine old stuff. Understand lots will be stock which could not sell 30 plus years ago. It still amazes me that the say 50% genuine NOS has just sat in a drawer for so long. Automatic and manual will probably last okay but I doubt battery watches do okay. The shed loads of ORIS from India etc.. Has to be hooky, crazy dial colours. Wrench I do like the idea of asking round jewellers for what they have in the way of old stock, I may find the answer to this puzzle.
  2. I am curious but know very little about NOS. There seem to be plenty of 1960s onwards NOS available, often Swiss brands now defunct, and at fair prices. The style and size of 1960s & 1970s watches appeal to me but I cannot quite get my head round stock genuinely sat somewhere for 30 to 40 years unsold. It would never happen with most mechanical objects. Anybody keen on NOS? Where to buy? I work on the basis of 'buy the seller' if you buy online. Manual, automatic, battery.... Any to avoid if NOS? Photographs of anybody' favourite NOS watches would be interesting, general comments about the merits of NOS too.
  3. Nice enough watch. My Dad wore a similar size Roamer for as long as I remembered him. I always admired it because it had a clear dial, not like a plate attached to his wrist. No you are not mad what is wrong with a small Gent's watch?
  4. It can't be a bad price at £37 and really good looking face.
  5. Depends by what you judge to be affordable but Casio are solid and reliable and can cost next to nothing.
  6. Invisible picture?
  7. Nice on the brown leather strap
  8. Still curious to know how you change the time on it.
  9. I wear my watch on left wrist and part my hair on the right, weird isn't it?
  10. Mr

  11. Seems interesting, but What a crummy site , looks to be empty !!
  12. I am watching this space Biker.... arrived yet & what did you buy? I thought some of the better watches looked rather nice. Would not usually think of buying Casio but I ordered Casio calculator & it arrived today ... a tenner & really fantastic quality. Yes a calculator adds numbers & a watch tells the time, but if the watches are as good quality as the calculators it is .
  13. Just received a prompt e mail back from Meranom about the price rise saying. " The price was supposed to be increased by 15% but by accident it was increased by 45%". Well my UK calculator makes it 52%. "Heads up for a Russian Bargain" hmmmm? Exchange rate improves 17% so price is supposed to get worse by 15%. That's novel.
  14. Sorry about the print size of the last post, no idea how to make it so you can actually read it.
