    • Watch companies, like some people, are so much up themselves, it defies understanding. Get on with it then, I've seen it all before, and it's still boring. But, if that's what consumers really want, I'll bow to the driven masses and comply. Yeah, right I will.
    • I expect a white paper by Wednesday. I would've thought Rolex by now would be using Unobtainium in their watches. Some day.... Gee that IWC CEO looks like a young gipper, doesn't he? But what about that Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month Edition?  Yay, or nay?  I think it's pretty damn busy. And are those digital components on the dial?   I wonder if at that level the Stowa vs. the IWC ... you're not just saying it's "better value at the price" but that it's "a better VFM at that price point." The Portofino isn't "just a 2500 watch," it's acceptable VFM (presuming, I haven't seen one in the flesh) but there's some other watch around that price with better detailing, accuracy, support, blahblahblah ... is that what you mean?
    • The ref was either blind or on another planet. Poor refereeing imo.
    • Sometimes you don't know until you know. Have to wear it and look at it a bit.  That's the fuuuuun of watch modding, eh wot?
    • Their entry watch is the one I would buy , I can get a new Portofino for about £3200... but no matter how I square it , its just a £2500 watch.... at best. Longines offers much better value at the price , as does Omega with the De Ville.... .... and regards their pilot traditional styles, Stowa and Lica are much much better value.
